After 2,527 miles, our Las Vegas Guns and Hoses Team landed safely in New York City to compete in the World Police and Fire Games, only to be greeted by the lovely and beautiful hurricane Irene! After weathering the storm, and a few players, who we won’t mention (Dhabi Lewis and Rand Allison) quivering cowardly in the closet of the hotel during the entire storm, finally hit the ice on Monday August 29th, 2011 to take on H M Prison Service from England.
After much excitement and delay, our Guns and Hoses Team defeated H M Prison Service 11-3.

LV Guns and Hoses and H M Prison Team 2011
Filled with excitement and ready to celebrate, the Guns and Hoses Team hit the streets of NYC for a little celebration after their 11-3 victory. However, the celebration was cut short by the mean old Mr. Grinch, aka team Captain Rand Allison. Rand, wanting to win their bracket, imposed a team curfew of 8pm. However, this isn’t the Jr. Wranglers, nor is it Las Vegas, which means that Rand isn’t dealing with children nor 24 hours of available liquor, so the Team Compromised with Rand and only partied till last call!
Day two started off slow and sluggish after a night of fun. However, come game time our team was ready to rock and roll. Facing off on Tuesday August 30th, 2011 against Kearney FD from New Jersey (fist pump) proved to be a tougher task then H M Prison. After a fast paced gut and grit game against Kearney FD, our guys came out tied 1-1.
After two days of games, The Las Vegas Guns and Hoses are currently in 2nd place behind FDNY Tampa. With a win against FDNY Tampa, our team will move on.
Good Luck and keep up the hard play guys!!!
